How to Teach Swimming to Afraid Students with Virtually 100% Success

There's a new paradigm of teaching afraid students and all swim students that teaches comfort and control in water. Students must be in control to learn to swim, but afraid students aren't in control in water. There's a body of information for them to learn which is essential for all swimmers, children and adults, afraid and not afraid, in order for them to remain in control and be as safe as possible in water, shallow and deep. This new paradigm has stopped every instructor in our trainings in their tracks and given them powerful new capabilities. No skeptic goes home unchanged.

Become a Conquer Fear Instructor (CFI)

You will see the full system in action in the online training and throughout your hands-on training during our Beginning and Next Step classes. The hands-on training includes 5 days of the Beginning class, a weekend off (usually) and 5 days of the Next Step class. This is the best possible way to embody The 5 Circles Teaching Method before you begin teaching it. You'll continue to learn in the field afterward and during your four monthly 1-hour teleconferences that support your in-the-field teaching in the first half-year. When you finish the Full Training, you'll be able to teach our introductory half-day "mini-class" (an opportunity for prospective students to learn about the system and to have significant breakthroughs), Beginning class and our Next Step class. The combination of the latter two classes takes a student to freedom in deep water and readiness to learn strokes from you, regardless of where they began. They cannot find this level or rate of progress anywhere else, so 4000 adults internationally have told us since 1983.

The full training program is approximately 110 hours: online, classroom and warm pool. The book at the left is required reading before completion of the online training. At the hands-on training, there are morning and afternoon sessions each day. You will receive a training manual including our 60-page handbook for students. The training class size is limited. You should plan 1-2 days of downtime after completing the training in order to reorient yourself.

The goal is to embody the MSI system so that you can be highly effective with it. Further training takes place with discussion of your class feedback forms once you open your own Miracle Swimming classes.

Licensees agree to teach the full Miracle Swimming course 3 times per year in order to keep the material fresh and to continue to learn it.

What the Extended Training Covers:

A continuation of a 6-day training to increase your exposure, experience, and understanding. This is accomplished by attending our Next Step class as a Spotter (volunteer assistant). The Next Step class is usually given immediately after your training which is taught with a Beginning class. If there is no Next Step class following the 6-day training you take, you may take the Extended Training at another Next Step class. See the Schedule to find one. The final page of the student class schedule is the simplest place to find them.

Licensing

The Licensing Agreement will be sent to you before your training. Please read it over and bring any questions with you to the training.

CEUs

11 CEUs are available for completing the online/11-day training. (Continuing Education Units): $90

Payment accompanies registration (same day). When you're admitted to the training, your password will be sent. Allow 1-2 business days.

Registrations are taken 40 days or more in advance of the hands-on training to allow time to complete the online training, read the book, see the DVD, and review the licensing agreement.
