I can safely and confidently learn strokes now without distraction."
— Daniel Oliverio, Buffalo, NY

considers the needs of each person, so they continuously learn in a supportive

should be a prerequisite to life as a human on this planet. Everyone
who wants to conquer their fear of water should know about TSI." — Carson

believe you have learned more than how to swim." — Ken

it to others." — Ana O'Byrne, Sag Harbor,

lifetime. My deep gratitude for you and your classes. Thank you!" — Kathi
Gonzales, San Francisco, CA
I cannot begin to tell you how much I learned and
how much more confident I now am in water. Your methods truly had a miraculous
impact on me and my newfound confidence in water have opened doors that
I thought would always remain shut. Fred was excellent, moving us forward
at the right pace individually. I went to Maui last September and enjoyed
every second, including snorkeling. I would have never had the confidence
to visit an island with all of those "water activities" before your classes.
Thanks for everything.
— Richard Kennedy, Mountain View, CA

Gebhardt, CA
"My swimmer self is bursting out of me!" — Diana
Quintal, CA
"I went out for
Fleet Week on the USS Potomac with a bunch of my friends to see the
Blue Angels (Air Force flying team). I love flying, so I took all my
camera equipment, lenses, all the heavy stuff. To get the best shots,
I was leaning out over the bow of the ship somewhat precariously (my
friends thought) and they said, "Joan, you're going to fall overboard
into the bay!" I said, "Well, if I do, tell them to turn
around and pick me up." I never would have even gotten close to
the bow, or considered the possibility of living through falling overboard
before I took TSI's class." — Joan Kral, Hayward, CA,

it to anyone who is afraid — it will free you from your fear.

"I am so happy with how far I've come
in one week. If you are willing to trust the instructor and willing
to let go of your beliefs one at a time, you can't help but make
huge strides." — Mark Landry, Boston
"I felt all aspects were presented in
a calm fashion, at my pace, and I never felt funny if I couldn't
do something. I was able to learn things that even affected me
when I was not in the water. What worked really well for me was
being taught to slow down and to do steps at my own pace without
feeling left out." — Nora Wood, Massachusetts
"The system works, I'm sure of it. I'm
also sure that your methods will assist me in other areas of my
life. I would tell anyone considering your class to bring along
all the patience they can muster for themselves; stay
true to where they are in the process and have faith that what
they came for will happen on its own, it's own time. Have fun in
the meantime!" — Barbara Bancroft, Boston
"Wonderful! I cannot believe myself!
I can now swim to the deep end and not be terrified...I can actually
feel good about just bobbing on top of the water in the deep area
and not be out of control! And the classes are small enough for
individual attention whenever I needed it." — Lore
Hetzner, Cohoes, NY
"Don't wait. See all you're missing!" — John
Lafountain, Albany, NY
"It's like no other class! Swimming or

Comments From Every Class
Member of two Orlando Beginning Classes, August, 2006 (thirteen students):
"Amazing
that it really works! You can't help but be skeptical at
first because it seems so simple, but then you wonder why
everyone doesn't each this way. Also, your book is excellent." — Diana
Duff
"If
I had enough pennies, or lived in Berkeley, I'd continue
taking classes."
— Theresa
Cirnigliaro, NYC
"This
class gives you the confidence to try things, feel how the
water is around you, as opposed to teaching strokes and how
to get from one side to another. I had previously been taught
this but was still afraid and would avoid the water all all
times. I now enjoy the water, feel it around me, know that
I'm safe within myself and that if I'm true to myself, the
water always works, to my surprise!" — Kerry
McGillivary
"I thought
the class was fantastic. While I had absolutely no expectations
going in, I was amazed at my progress." — Valerie
Jones
"You
can go at your own pace, not being forced to do something
you do not want to do. Use the book and video to sell the
course. I did not l ike the fact that we did not have exclusive
use of the hotel pool." — Louis
Buoscio
"Best investment
I've made in a while."
— Jacqueline Hernandez, Florida
"Excellent class,
a must for all who fear water." — Maria Renzo "I
am not sure if it was in the information and I missed
it, but I feel emphasis should be made that depending
on your level of fear, you may not learn to swim." — Carolyn
Smalls
|

"It works. I never took swimming lessons before and this really works. I let go of the wall to really feel the water and I learned how to do a front float, back float, glide across the pool and tread water." — Patricia
Burke
"I'm sad to leave. I will miss each and everyone in this class. I'd give the course handbook a 10 out of 10, the uniqueness of the teaching a 10, effectiveness of the teaching a 10, the discussions a 10, and my happiness with the class a 10." — Saquib
Masud
"This class went above and beyond my expectations. I have so much freedom in the water and am doing things quite comfortably that I never ever thought I would do. Not only have TSI's principles helped me overcome my fear of deep water and swim and play, free and relaxed, but they have also helped me (and will continue to do so) in all aspects of my life. This is the most amazing, life-altering experience I have ever had. Take this class and experience freedom in the water!" — Tanya
Smith, Virginia
"A
life-changing class...the best swimming instruction I have ever received
(and I've taken lessons 3 or 4 times). Now after only 5 days, I am
free in the water and I can swim. All swim classes should be taught
this way without exception. The class freed me from my fear of the
water and no other class or instructor has ever made that possible
until now. I truly thank you. It was life changing, unbelievable, incredible,
fun and relaxing. The method does not fail. It's the best method of
learning to overcome fear. It's the most fun I have ever had in the
water." — Michael Hart |

"It's not like any other swimming class
you'll ever take. It gets at the real issue, not just trying to teach
stroke techniques. Take it! TSI, your method is the only way I'll be
able to meet my swimming goals. I haven't been in a swimming pool in
10 years. Never in the deep end! I am amazed." — Rick
Williams, Orlando, FL
"I am very pleased with my outcome for
this class and convinced of the effectiveness of the Miracle
Swimming approach because I've seen incredible progress among all of
my classmates." — Rhonda Johnson, NY, NY
"This class has given me a level of comfort
and freedom in water and an understanding of how my body works with
water that I doubt I could have learned anywhere else. From the very
first session TSI made the pool a place I could have fun and feel safe....
I have learned things here that have made me look at myself differently.
I believe this class will have an impact in my life that stretches
far beyond the edge of the pool....The TSI experience is life-changing
in a profound and positive way. If your fear of water or failure in
other classes have ever made you feel like something was wrong wtih
you, TSI will help you." — Caroline Meyers, NY, NY

From Every Class Member Of The March, 2003 Virginia Beginning Class:
"If you're serious about swimming,
this is it!" — Dave Bobear, Albany, NY
"The class was fantastic - for
one hour I was a swimmer. If I can do it for an hour then I can do all
the time, with a little more help." — Darlene Brown, Washington,
D.C.
"I need to spend more time with
my soul. How do I register for the next class?" — Gail
Thompson, Boston, MA
"Be patient, listen to what
(Melon) is telling you, and once you do, the rest is easy" "You
have changed my life!" — Mark Miller, Chicago, IL
"Stay true to yourself and you
will find more of your authentic self. I am truly blown away." — Paula
Spero, Baltimore, MD
"The freedom to allow yourself
to stay present and feel how the water really supports you opens you
up to limitless possibilities in the water, but also heals the emotional
wounds that we felt water had caused. Everyone owes it themselves to
be happy and let that inner child out." — Karole Thomas,
Washington, D.C.
"Nancy and I returned last Friday from the
Galapagos. Spent 7 days on a boat ( 80 footer) with 17 others and a crew
of 9. We snorkeled every day, most times from a dinghy and a few times
from shore. We snorkeled with lots of fish- sometimes really huge schools-
rays, hammerhead sharks, an octopus (which sprayed ink when touched by
our guide), penguins, pelicans, and sea lions-all swimming with us. Our
last snorkel was to a submerged reef (rocks) out in the middle of the
ocean. Land was a couple of miles away and the swells were about three
feet. There were about ten of us on the dinghy and we all jumped in.
But half almost immediately went back in the boat- they found the situation
to be intimidating, which it was. But I stayed in, was "in-my-body" and
it was cool. That first drop off the boat put my heart in my mouth, but
as soon as my mask was in the water, looking at the reef it was OK. I
never dreamed I would be bobbing around in the middle of the ocean like
that--amazing !!! Thank you for that. All aboard were impressed so I
was a great advertisement for "Miracle Swimming." Thanks so
much for the miracle of me and the sea!!!" — Bill Dutcher,
CA, senior citizen.
"It wasn't until I
did my spiritual work that I could even think of approaching my fear
of the water. It all came together when you started doing the dry-land
clinic of your mini-class. That was the breakthrough moment for me.
I'll never forget it and once again, thank you for it." — Joan
Kral, CA
"In my view, your course and your teaching
are pure inspiration, almost magical. I wish we had time to do more swimming
but I swim every opportunity I have." — Wendy Packman,
CA
"I am always willing to be a spokesperson
for your program which changed my attitudes on water and what is important
in life. " "Regarding the SCUBA diving class in August, "By
far the best class I attended as now evidenced by 50 dives." — Richard
Silva, now a SCUBA diver.
"Swimming is wonderful. Last night I did
two laps free style, one back stroke, and finished with free style (without
stops). This is what I wanted. As I swim if I'm feeling tired, I slow
things down and make sure I'm blowing bubbles. It all feels very good...
Now I can do what my first dance teacher said would be very good for
me when I'm not dancing, SWIM. Thank you so very much." — Connie
Woods
"Here
I am in Sydney and though after leaving Northern California a year ago
I didn't stick with swimming, I again found myself recently with a quiet
private pool and started to splash around a bit. Well, after about a
half hour and reminding myself of what I learned from you in the few
hours we worked together, I found myself, however ineffeciently and clumsily,
swimming laps. The pool wasn't deeper than 5-feet, so I was in no danger.
I just started relaxing and trying to do what I'd seen others do. I was
quite pleased. So I've enrolled in traditional swimming classes here
at my university. They are very much of the "get in and do it" style.
No whiners, no time for fear. I was a bit taken aback when one of the
women in charge told me "some people progress really quickly, and
some just keep coming back and they never seem to get it". I wanted
to tell her that she was the one who didn't get it. Obviously the real
issue was that the non-progressing students are afraid. But of course
that isn't addressed in traditional classes such as these. Well, thanks
to you, I'm really not very afraid anymore. I can just hop right in.
Because of the brief background you gave me, I was blazing through the
first class, doing all the stuff the instructor told me with relative
ease. The other two adult beginners were obviously terrified and made
little progress. Sadly, they look like they may be among those who "don't
get it"."
"What they lack in understanding
of people I am able to fill in with the confidence you gave me. So, thanks
for that. I only wish I could have stayed longer in Cali to continue
lessons with you & your school. Best of luck and happy new year!
I'll be plugging away down under." "P.S. The teacher also insisted
that my legs should float when I'm floating on my back." — Yours,
Adam

Comments From Both Students Of
The September, 2003 Calistoga Beginning Class:
"I can't imagine why this isn't the universal
way swimming is taught. Too awesome for words. Euphoric." — Margaret
Teague, CA
"An extraordinary experience. I came home on Friday, feeling
like a new person. I went swimming at our neighborhood pool on Saturday
afternoon, and it was as if I was seeing the pool with new eyes.
For the first time, I was swimming and looking around and realized
that the slope of the pool going to the bottom at the deep end didn't
look so scary. I decided to give myself time and just had fun doing
a few flips and somersaults... and spent a lot of time in the water
without getting tired. During the first few days back at home and
at work, I felt my mind slowing down and was very aware of the world
around me. My tight mind was willing to try new things. I hope I
can keep that feeling and not limit my possibilities. Thank you." — Melonie
Brophy, CA
