Family beach safety day |
||
This is a fun day in the water and on the beach for you and your family to learn about aspects of beach safety not commonly known but widely needed: safety in rip currents, critters in the water, waves, sun, and storms. Knowledge is your family's best protection and guarantee for a fun vacation or day at the beach. We'll have discussion time and water time. The water time will be about how to get in safely, becoming comfortable with the water's movement, feeling it hold you up if you are unfamiliar with it, and learning to float and put your face in water if you haven't done this before. Find out how waves make you move (or not), what to do if you're stung by a jellyfish, and how to know if "today" is the day to stay out of the water. Much of the lore about going to the beach is hearsay or assumption. Get the facts and be a smart parent or beach swimmer. In Florida we have a beautiful resource to enjoy in our beaches and if we know the beaches' ways, we can enjoy them for decades to come!
Free comprehensive Beach Safety printout will be provided for each family.
