Next Step Class
The Next Step Class is comprised of 8 classes of 3 hours each, one hour on land followed by 2 hours in a warm pool, like the Beginning class.
Continue from where you left off in your Beginning Class. Reach full freedom in the shallow and deep at your own pace as always at MSI.
The goal of this class is to attain complete confidence and comfort so you can stay in the deep end swimming and playing as long as you wish; you know you can stay in control.

"Do it-- take the class. If you are hesitant because of the cost, see it as an investment in yourself...and you're worth every cent. Though the class only lasted 8 days, it felt like a lifetime because mentally I had changed so much between day 1 and day 8." Angie Wong
"10 out of a possible 10." Jude Sharp
"Excellent. It's a different approach which is actually quite logical and effective. It works." Rupert Dusauzay, Jr.
"Book $22
Goggles $12
Nose Clip $5
Swimming class $1526
Freedom from fear of water: Priceless." —Danette Ruggiero, San Diego
Read our book before class begins. Furthering your swim classes without reading the book, the $22 solution, hardly makes sense. The book is the Going Backward Is Going Forward of understanding the Miracle Swimming principles. If you knew them fully, you’d be free in water now. The book has the material you have not yet learned which you're taking the Next Step class to finish learning. Reading it, especially after the Beginning class, helps the teaching hit home in a new way. It will accelerate your Next Step class triumphs.
When you're completely comfortable in the deep end, you'll be able to stand on the bottom and smile. You'll be able to "hang out" and rest for as long as you wish. In the Next Step class, you master skills introduced in the Beginning swim class that you haven't mastered. There's no rush, and you can repeat the class. One practice session per week for 8 weeks is included in the local San Francisco Bay Area swim classes.
The purpose of the Beginning and Next Step swim classes together is to teach you to swim according to our definition: to be at ease and comfortable in deep water and able to go from here to there in the deep or shallow, confidently and peacefully. Once you're calm, you're ready to learn stroke technique. The crawl stroke (freestyle) is taught in an upper level class, Freestyle. If you're ready to begin learning freestyle at the end of the Next Step class, we'll begin to teach you. You may repeat the Next Step class (or any class).
